As my submission for my HSC Visual Arts BOW (2017), I created a short picture book that detailed a single day of our main protagonist, Adelaide Brooks. Juxtaposing the prosaic against the extraordinary, we follow Adelaide’s imagination as it interacts with and changes the world around her. Adelaide is accompanied by her toy elephant, Graham, who is magically transformed by her imagination. Together, they journey around both suburbia and the city, venturing between the ordinary and the extraordinary. The reader is invited to be a part of Adelaide’s world through this small glimpse into her imagination.
